Civil War Sites that may be helpful for the Persuasive Essay:
Point of View Project Information:
Choices for the project:
Letters:
You and a partner can write letters to each other (ex: soldier to family member back home OR cousins writing to each other from opposite sides of the war) Must describe what life is like to each other in GREAT DETAIL.
You must decorate a post card and write a short message about life in the North or South. Your partner sends a Post Card back to you that describes life in the opposite side you wrote from.
You must write 3 separate journal entries that have dates that are appropriate for the Civil War. You can describe life as it progresses through the war.
If you are a journalist, you can choose this option. You can describe all of the events of a major battle.
You can choose an approved major figure in the Civil war and create a poster board about that figure that details the important parts of their lives and their relevance to the Civil War (ex: Abe Lincoln, Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson, Ulysses S. Grant, Clara Barton, Elizabeth Blackwell, are just a few of the possible choices)
Minimum of 6 slides about a point of view from the Civil War
